Say “The SS was either completely inept or in on it” without saying “The SS was either completely inept or in on it.”

Guy on roof with a range finder should have been the end of it.
They probably thought he was a golfer that hit an errant shot.
Just some dude looking for his ball.

Obviously the USSS needs to start hiring Sherpas.

He hid it in his chin.

Not sure how they know he "hid it in advance" if they don't know where he hid it.
that's actually about the only "easy" one to answer.
and most here probably already knew this much was likely true.
He didn't walk in through metal detectors with it.
so it was stashed somewhere on the premises beforehand.

IMO, if the state police stationed a couple of officers on those roofs he never would have attempted anything. The fact that it was wide open for a shot is what pushed him to do it. Of course he would have eventually tried something against someone else less famous.

The entire idea of declaring a weird dude lurking around and measuring distance a person of interest and just casually keeping an eye on him without sending people to confront a, including when he was on the roof, is just bizarre
One would think that a simple LEO encounter would be standard practice in this scenario. “Hello sir, how are you doing this fine day? Nice range finder you have there. I’m a bit of a golfer myself, could you explain why’d you bring such a thing to this rally today?”

True, but there were several witnesses that have described seeing him before the shooting and to my knowledge none have mentioned him carrying a rifle or any type of bag that would conceal a rifle.
My hunch is he stashed it somewhere on the roof or the building he used to gain access to the roof. My guess would be sometime in between when the SS advance team did their sweep (assuming they even did that, which they normally do) and when the rally started.

he must've hid it on the sloped roof. Kryptonite for SS agents.
We all know the sloped roof is bullshite, but if that were true why not have agents on the ground around the the building ?

How long before we find out it was “stashed” in the same building with the police snipers? Right before they handed it to him.

Rangefinders are mainly used for two things.
Golf and hunting/shooting.
If he wasn’t carrying a set of golf clubs, he should have been detained and questioned.

This was desperate and sloppy. They literally had to perform circus acts of intentional "negligence" to make sure shooter got his shots off. DJT was not supposed to survive and they were just gonna roll with the consequences.

Exactly
I think it all just flies in the face of everything we've all known/believed/assumed/experienced about USSS.
I certainly would have believed that anyone pacing around by themselves in a vacant area 200 yards from the president (as he was doing on video) would have drawn a lot of persistent, close attention or some questioning.

I thought they reported he borrowed the gun from his dad the day of the event.
Posted on 7/18/24 at 1:04 pm to jbgleason
So he knew in advance to hide it close to the roof they knew nobody was on so he wouldn't have to find a location while packing it around event?!

Is it true that a lot of the normal detail was replaced that day?
