I am thinking about retiring from my present role. But I have had a job since I was 12, and I want to do something part-time in retirement. I don't mean volunteer work. I mean a real job where someone is expecting you to show up.
Any of y'all thought about that?

I may do some consulting or something but being required to show up somewhere AFTER I retire?

I am not retired but I got a second job coaching high school sports. Did it the first year totally free and then moved into a "paying" role the second year but the pay is very VERY minimal; I just enjoy the hell out of it.

Driver for A.S.A.P. or something like that. You’re responsible for you and only you. Spend your whole day driving around to different businesses picking stuff up and dropping stuff off.
I see the same drivers in our hospitals all the time…seems pretty low stress.

I’m retired now 6months.
Never thought of that. Not planning to think of that.
If not retired, my best option was the job I retired from. Or retired.

it would be helpful if we knew something about your skillset and your past career.
Also how much will you depend on the money you make i.e. do you need the money or just want to augment your income?
Do you want to work a 40 hour week or just 20 to 30 hours?
How much responsibility do you want or do you just want a job where someone else has the weight on their shoulders?

Honestly, how could you go wrong with being an electrician? I've been doing Cyber Security for more than 20 years, and wished I would have just learned the business, and then run trucks and gotten rich.
At Wharton Junior College, you can get certified in HVAC/Electrical for $4k in about a year or so. A single MBA class costs me more than that.
I'm not sure where you live, but I was just at Canyon Lake in TX this weekend. You can be as part time as you want around places like that, doing tree trimming, pest control (frick scorpions, killed three in one afternoon in the house), electrical or engine work for ZTR mowers, all kinds of stuff. When you schedule when you work, your life gets much better.
