Yeah but I don't thing this is making it more convoluted. this is just forcing police officers to use another term even though they'll all know exactly what it means.

It's putting lipstick on a pigs arse for the sake of winning political points

So now kids who attend school are referred to the same thing people in jail are referred to? I would think this would make these kids feel like criminals.

Exactly. I don't think the other poster understands what you're saying, and certainly hasn't seen that bit by Carlin. They try to create the illusion of a problem being dealt with by changing the term to something completely sterilized.

And in this case, it's right up there with "newspeak." They can try to sweep "community members" under the rug all they like. They'll just keep poking out, without fail. But, this is what the left wants. This is why their entertainment industry has created a "culture" that tells young people that being a thug criminal is cool.

So a serial male rapist in Seattle will now be accused of being a community member who inappropriately used his community member on community members.

I suspect this will perpetrate confusion.

That seems like a good idea. Will probably stop crimes Id like to think.

Throw in statue removals, and we are 100% good to go

The Left coast needs to sink in the Ocean, taking Texas /NY/Mass. with it.

A Missouri fan or graduate wanting Texas to fall into the ocean because of liberalism? Talk about a log in your own eye. Triggered?

Right. Because being a suspect is a negative thing.

Seems like they are really pushing for that vision of society portrayed in Demolition Man, but realistically we will end up a society more akin to Dredd.

The Left Coast should secede from the union and be done with it. Regardless, it's clear that we have a geo-political divide in this nation that we never be reconciled.

Yep, which is why this is a really dumb word change. Because...

...you are now associating the entire community with ONE person's (assuming it's a single person involved, but it was two in this case) crime.

So...now police will have to go into communities, likely made up of a similar demographic as their suspect, and say "I'm here looking for a community member. Can you help me out?"
