I rode the rental bikes all over Chicago and it was the best way to get around. When your time expired, the bike would lock up. However, I never saw any just littered everywhere. They had a service that would come get them and put them back on the chargers and lock them up.

Those things are a blight wherever they are. They’re a mess in cities too. Go to any big city and they litter the streets.

I saw one of these on the shoulder on Burbank past Rotolos this morning
That’s the furthest out I’ve seen them thus far.

I was in Rome last month and the scooters are everywhere. It was not a problem.

Baton Rouge loves to embrace foolishness.
Seems pretty easy to program zones that they need to be dropped off at. Essentially, extra fees if you don't leave it in a "parking zone". Very Louisiana to take something widely used across the world and screw it up.

Go to Denver a good bit and ride them around there. Pretty easy just to hop on and off to get around.

Without knowing what or clicking the link….
In Dallas they did bikes and scooters and it made the city more of a mess

We walk the lakes on the weekend and they look like dead scooters are everywhere

Immediately?
If so, it would be a nice Sunday afternoon to sit outside and watch this scene unfold multiple times...

not to mention they are riding around walkers who may get destroyed

I like the part about them going too fast.
Do they not have a way to control your speed?
"The scooters move too fast!".
Well genius, how about you just operate it at a slower speed?
I saw these in Austin back in 2019 for the LSU/Tex game. Those things were EVERYWHERE.

They have passed the 2 year mark in Salt Lake and are still doing very well. There are a few abusers, but those are a very small minority.

The City of Greensboro did away with this program as well. Scooters left ALL OVER THE PLACE... on the streets, in bushes, everywhere.

run those frickers over and they'll get more respectful.
Just like cyclists.

Some ended up in lakes. Some in bushes. Some wrecked into vehicles. My son told me all about it. All over the place.
