It may absorb less heat from the sun but is it going to eliminate humidity in the south? If not, then it isn't going to work here.

So being the most white is the coolest thing?

This isn't going to end well for Purdue. I see many protests.

What are the unintended consequences of this?
Refrigerator salesmen go broke, and form roving gangs that maraud through the city centers, telling tourists where they got their shoes.

I bet that's pretty unintended.

Well no. Because it will just radiate inside the house.

What they are saying they gave a paint you would put on OUTSIDE and would reflect most of the solar energy and emit more thermal radiation than it absorbs, causing a cooling effect.

Obviously won’t do anything about humidity though.

Well, SURE it would. You've seen what a glass of ice water does to a table in the summer if you don't have a coaster under it. If the outside air is 85 degrees and at 100% humidity and the inside of your house is 5 degrees cooler, you'll condense all that sweet, sweet water on every surface of your house that warm humid air touches.

In the deep south that paint will grow a film of algae and mildew quickly, and not be useful at all as a replacement for AC.

The whitest paint in the world has been created in a lab at Purdue University, a paint so white that it could eventually reduce or even eliminate the need for air conditioning, scientists say.

And pray tell what color would keep us warm in the winter?

How many car crashes will this cause if it reflects off of dozens of houses?

Guess these people pushing for no A/C

Those pushing for no a/c already stink; hippies.

Too bad we can't put them on a space barge where they do their homo shite as it flies into the sun (or some other star).
