No shite.

Also, the article very clearly puts quotes around "teleported" because that's actually not what this is at all. It simply sent information using light. Which is pretty cool in itself and could have many applications...but in no way is it legit teleporting one thing to a different place in space/time.

The idea of teleportation has always spooked me.

What if teleportation is actually just really good cloning, and we one day think we can teleport people but really it's just making a copy and killing the original. You'd never know, because the copy would think they are the original and be like "holy smokes yeh it worked!" but really, the original just dies. Teleportation is widely accepted one day when in reality it's just murdering people left and right.

But then one person gets away and has to get to the bottom of what is really happening. There is your show. Kinda sorta similar to the Sixth Day.

I believe quantum information refers to to particle pairs that are dependent on each other. So if you can observe one particular you know what the other is doing whether they are 2 meters apart or 2 light years apart. All other communication speed is limited by the speed of light.

This becomes incredibly important as we turn our attention towards the possibility of colonizing other worlds. For example, right now it would take anywhere from 3-22 minutes to send a message to Mars or for someone on Mars to send a message back to Earth (the large range is due to where the Earth and Mars are in relation to each other, such as if they were on opposite sides of the Sun).

So they discovered wi-fi?

Was this also a USAID grant by any chance?

Because it sounds like one

Someone help me out here on what Im missing. How is this "ground breaking"? 2 meters to transfer information? My wifi goes farther than that

My guess is WIFI works on a radio wave where quantum light whatever works on a light band.

So radio wave speed vs speed of light.
My guess is it’s like going from 56k modem to high speed internet.
