That makes no sense whatsoever. Saying that a higher power exists but not god is like saying you have a Chevy Silverado but it's not a truck.

Common sense doesn't run too deep around here.

That's why religion threads are banned on here. Everyone has their own side, and people just bicker back and forth and RA, and nothing ever changes. It's an eternal struggle.

You totally misread everything I said in that post.

Nah man, it's all luck. No one can explain how the first matter came into existence without a creator...so it makes more sense that it just appeared via magic, then through a series of events less likely than winning the lottery 100 times in your life, the world was created, and we evolved from mud. Poof SCIENCE!

Well, if you put it that way......

You operating under the impression non believers aren't living good lives? I find myself having equal or better morals than many of my Christian friends. I do it because I think it's right, without the promise of a reward or a punishment for eternity. They do it for the reward, drawing the implication that were it not for their religion they wouldn't act morally.

Then your friends aren't "Christians". They may believe in a Christian God, but that doesn't make them a Christian. Real Christians know that simply professing faith and living a good life doesn't make you a Christian.

A real scientist doesn't use the term, "God", or even allude to such a concept. Issac Newton would be rolling in his grave.

Kaku never said God. The writer of the article mentioned God. Kaku said “I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence”

Pretty sure tachyons make the Flash run fast so there is that

No, I definitely know that's not the case. You just can't pull something directly out of your arse and expect people to take your word for it if there is zero proof of something. If you don't need proof of something and blindly accept wild accusations, I find you to be a total simpleton. I defend free thought, not its enslavement as the truly pious do about their beliefs.

Which = God

Unless you want to believe the "Alien" and "Prometheus" method, by which we were created by 7 foot aliens for their enjoyment - and in that case the predators are coming soon, so we need to start arming ourselves.

Is that really living a good life?

Who says your morals are better? Or even correct? Who/what defines your view of "better" morality?

And just to keep things balanced (although I realize we are discussing god in general and not a Judaeo-christian god..........

Let's be honest. That's just as likely. As is the virtual reality "Matrix" explanation.

how is that statement true?

Short of God physically appearing before you (which we all know isn't happening) There will be room for doubt. Someone who needs proof will forever be looking for just a little more.

We'll all find out if God is real soon enough, in our own time.

You don't quantum physics much do you?

Lots of "total simpletons" in that field.

I read the article, and it is not definitive proof. Just because it is clear to a theoretical physicist, doesn't mean it's proven. It means he thinks it is proven.

Honestly, if you'd just change the title then maybe we could discuss the subject matter within the article instead of having multiple pages of people telling you that it is not fact.
