There is absolutely no actual "science" referenced in this thread. Fatties will always be just Fatties.

This hierarchy of bodies is nothing new, with roots in racism, slavery and every other attempt to rank bodies.

This. We didn’t enslave black people

We enslaved fat people who happened to be black

I love how Democrats claim to be the party of Science and yet they don’t know how To properly define Life, Gender or Health.

If Republicans would get on the side of Climate Change and Evolution they would corner the market.

So basically, if you are white and try and say people should be healthy, you are racist

I read the article. I agree that fatshaming or whatever is psychologically hurtful. I also agree that a whole health industry, that is more or less the wild west, has been birthed out of a desire to be thin and, therefore, healthy, and that this health industry may be (and is) taking advantage of people looking for an easy fix. But she does not deny because she cannot deny that healthy habits like exercise and healthy nutrition have morbidity and mortality benefits. The article is provocative in it's title and opening paragraph, but the reality is that she just wants people to be wary of dieting to lose weight rather than dieting in a manner that is life changing and sustainable so as to keep one from giving up on it. Everyone agrees that being overweight is problematic for one's health. Even her. She's saying that it simply isn't enough to declare war of obesity. We must understand that fat people have issues beyond a simple need to lose weight.

And all that's fine and good, but we should not allow the obesity epidemic to be tolerated or, worse, accepted because of some stupid article that worries about the psychological effects felt by people who are fat when they are confronted by the simple fact that they are fat. That's a path to hell upon which we are already well enough on our way.

Person - "If you think the earth survives another 10 years you're an anti-science idiot"

Same person - "Stigmatizing obesity is a bigger problem than obesity. Oh, and transgenderism is healthy and totally not a disorder, you bigot."
