My grandfather has eaten a ham and pimento cheese sandwich on white bread nearly every single day for lunch for as long as I can remember. Which is well over 30 years. He will be 90 in September.
He'd probably be 100 by now if he'd eaten it on whole wheat.

Go high protein low carbs. All carbs turn to sugar. Can't eliminate carbs so choose better products and smaller portion size. Like whole grains, a sweet potato over russett. Eats lots of fresh veggies/ salads with low calorie dressings.

Its all about sugar intake and carbs converting to sugar.

Sweet potatoes have the exact same amount of carbs as Russet potatoes. They just have a lot more nutrients.

Sure 100 cal of low GI food is the same as 100 cal of high GI food when it comes to weight gain.

You're stating this as though it's not controversial. It is. Weight loss programs have been claiming the opposite for years, and it is widely believed.

actually came back to this thread when your own study says your title is a lie

No it isn’t, White bread doesn’t make you fat. The entire motivation behind the wheat garbage is the same behind Tab, Splenda, Diet Coke, fat free Mayo, etc.

You want to say wheat helps with stroke or some shite, that ain’t why people fear bought wheat. The US is aesthetics driven. You and your chia seed lance Armstrong weekend cyclists types ain’t the norm.

Whatever.
Whole wheat doesn't turn into cotton candy in your mouth which is gross.

Yes. I know that. Your title says "white bread ain't bad for you"

Your study shows exactly the opposite.

True. But the sweet potato is a complex carb. It doesnt convert to sugar in the body as rapidly as white potatos. No quick spikes in glucose levels.

Sweet potatoes are a good source of Vitamin C and Potassium. When my iron gets too low, I make it a point to eat sweet potato with my supplement as it helps with non-heme iron absorption.

Wrong

Not completely. A calorie is a calorie, but "empty" calories (no nutritional value and no satiation) are worse because you're still hungry, so they cause you to eat more.

Nothing makes you fat

Eating more calories than you burn makes you fat. Whether that be ding dongs or lettuce

We are talking about what is healthy though

For example, taking copious amounts of opioids wont make you fat either, but I wouldnt say "it aint bad for you"

You can literally Google any subject and find studies on both sides of it. It's infuriating.

This is the key. Since I learned this, I haven't had to diet. Simply learn what lower calorie foods fill you up (like grapes and green vegetables) and you'll naturally get full with fewer calories consumed.

not really when it comes to nutrition. You will find so called scientific articles but not studies.

there is no study showing once calories and protein are equated that low carb or IF or any type other type of diet causes faster body fat loss.

just get in a caloric deficeit, eat enough protein to maintain or gain muscle and fill the rest of the calories however you want that helps you stay compliant.
