In Eunice/lawtell/Opelousas area there's already flooded streets, is be surprised if we don't close here as well

According to KATC, St. Landry Parish schools will remain open.

Surprised with how much water there is all over. A lot of flooded yards and full ditches along 741. The Little Teche is the highest it's been in a while.

They literally closed 20 min after they said they were gonna stay open....their lawyer probably called and said "Are you dumb?"

I still don’t think they actually called for this until after it was already here

Like it started raining and they said “ Good morning folks, it’s going to rain today”

Yep, Pointe Coupee closed for the day. They took no snow days, so why not.

My kids school closed. But it is because you can’t flush the toilets.

I am currently trying to decide what to do w them thru the day.

No snowflakes on the West Side, baby. Schools open, busses rolling.

To be fair, West Baton Rouge didn't experience any major flooding in 2016 with all that rain. But yeah, my kids were upset they had school.

Next year will be my 20 year reunion. I can remember one time in my entire grade school where school was closed for a non-Hurricane event and that was the May 8 flood in 95.

It’s ridiculous.

Because of flooding. BR got to watch Houston go underwater from this rain and is being cautious. If yesterday's flash flooding didn't get your attention, watch the rest of the weekend.

Just had to drive around town. It's pretty damn flooded out there. Better to keep thousands of kids off the road.
