According to KPRC-TV, DeAndre Arnold, who is a senior at Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, Texas, will not be able to participate in his 2020 high school graduation unless he cuts his dreadlocks. Administrators at the school also recently handed down an in-school suspension after the teen refused to cut his hairstyle back. The Arnold family, who hails from Trinidad, sports extensive dreadlocks as part of the family's culture. DeAndre also said that the school district changed its dress code after Christmas break, demanding that hair must be "clean and well-groomed" and male students' hair must not extend past the eyebrows, earlobes, or T-shirt collar, according to KPRC. "They say that even though my hair is up and I follow all of the regulations, that if it was down, it would be out of dress code," DeAndre told the station. "Not that I'm out of dress code, but if I was to take it down, I would be out of dress code, which doesn't make any sense. I don't take it down at school."

fricking stupid.

Who cares what hair a kid has? When he gets out into the real world he'll either realize he has to cut his hair to gain certain employment, or he will find a place that has no issue with his hair.

There is absolutely no reason to enforce hair policies at school, particularly when this wouldn't apply if it was a female.

The activists will descend upon these administrators to destroy them, the school will capitulate, then the activists will still complete their mission of destroying the administrators

It happens every year. There is always some idiot kid who wants to have their long hair, blue hair, beard, etc. Just follow the dress code, walk, and smile for your momma.

he is following them. Even worse, why the frick does the school have strict rules about a person's hair? None of the government's business what hair style the kid has.

All the small government conservatives are all of the sudden ok with the government dictating hair styles.

There are a lot of things that we have to do that are dumb. But if it’s a rule it is a rule for everyone.

It's a rule they made up in the middle of the year specifically to target him, and a rule he isn't violating when his hair is up.

Well, if it wasn’t a rule then he should be allowed to wear his hair the way it is. If it was a rule then he needs to follow it
