Any parents ever offered you cash to pass their kid?
Screw that. Did any moms try to go Mrs. Gump on you for their kids?

So you're in denial?

I wish, I would totally accept a few hundred bucks to pass a student failing. I mean the way it is set up we pass students who've failed twice despite the fact they should fail a third time.

This is a good one.

I've had a couple of parents hit on me at a local bar. However, my down the bayou girlfriend scares me.

Whats your biggest regret as a teacher?
How often do you make fun of the stupid kids with other teachers?

Biggest regret: snapped at a student and wrote in a planner because he/she was misbehaving. Turned out the mom left the night before and student was just angry. So way I acted ruined his/her perception of how a teacher should act.
I talk about students, won't lie and say I don't. Usually it is in jest but sometime sit is because you have a strong dislike for the student.

Does the principal or anyone else in administration ever pressure you to change a grade or go easy on a student?

I've always wanted to teach. And have thought about doing so in about 10 years in my 50's as sort of an early retirement that will give me insurance and also gives me summers off.
I'd be giving up a crap ton of income but it would be my way to give back to society, do many people do this?

What do you do during the Summer?

Do y'all bully substitute teachers?
I always imagined they were like the prison yard bitch.
I never dealt with this when I did it. They usually like subs because you're covering them while they take the day off. This was high school by the way.

Why do people think this is giving back to society? What makes kids good people or quality citizens is what they learn from their parents, and role models (Now I know that can be a teacher as well).

Should I become a teacher? I have a degree in bio from LSU and am considering all kinds of things like PA but I'm still deciding.

Does your school records really follow you for the rest of your life?
Do you stop stop kids from eating boogers or do you let them eat?
