Six months ago, a conservancy official cleaning out an office came across two cardboard boxes that had been sitting around for decades. Inside were 2,924 color slides, pictures made in parks across New York City’s five boroughs late in the summer of 1978. No one had looked at them for 40 years.

Really interesting pics and certainly worth checking out but the accompanying text was so saccharine I nearly stopped scrolling through.

What a cool article. Simpler times, not a single duck face to be had.

Now it’s want to go dig in my mom’s closet for all the old photos of me from the 80s. I’m sure it will bring back memories.

I spent much of the Summer of 78 in New York . I remember my WW2 Uncle from Long Island had little American flags on the front corners of his caddy. That America is long gone.

Summer of 78 may have been my favorite. Really was a "live for the moment" time
