So, on Monday I was at Ochsner had a CT scan on my eye, which was infected and inflamed.
This morning while perusing the OT Lounge posts, this ad pops up:

So the internet now thinks you want to buy CT equipment or have yours serviced?

My latest was yesterday when I was watching The Wire on HBO to see if it looked like a soap opera on my new UHD tv (it does). Hate that shite. Anyway, got bored with it and turned on Youtube. Immediately there are 2 Steve Earle videos in my feed. Kudzu. The internet is like kudzu.

Did you search Google for "CT scan" or visit any websites that talk about CT scans recently? That's the non-scary reasoning behind the ads you're getting.
The other reason is that your phone is listening to you and tracking your location 24/7. I've had some ads come up for stuff I had in person discussions about before and never looked up online, then bam...ad for it on TD. The great and powerful cluckster is all knowing

On Sunday, I told my daughters to check out Shady Rays for sunglasses. They are looking for a pair and Shady Rays are relatively inexpensive, have a great return policy and a terrific warranty. They both looked at their own phones to go to the SR website.
Sunday night, on my wife's phone, while on Facebook, she receives a Shady Rays advertisement. She had never heard of the brand prior to us talking about it earlier that day and she had never searched for them. I'm convinced that FB listens.

Xfinity has cashed in with a voice activated remote. These contraptions should be called living room spies.

Nope. In fact they called me only about an hour and a half prior to tell me they wanted a CT scan. No Google searches or anything.
Probably said something about the CT scan on my phone, but certainly put 'CT Scan' in emails and texts afterwards.
This is really Big Brother stuff. Gonna have to see how to deal with it...

Or she just was served ads based on other searches that were done on the same WiFi network. I get all kinds of makeup YouTube recs from where my daughter has been watching and fortnite shite my son looks up

One day in my 20’s i happened to be on YouTube looking at war videos from Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s not something I usually watch. I just went down a war footage rabbit hole for a couple hours.
Not 30 minutes after I log off, I get a call from an Army recruiter. Immediately i was like wtf??
I hadn’t gotten a call from a recruiter for a couple years when I got that call. I figured they gave up since I turned them down every other time they called.
That time was the last time they called me though. Maybe it was just a coincidence. Maybe it wasn’t. I don’t know. But it certainly made me wonder...

This is a possibility. How does one clear server ads? I don't want performance enhancement pills, Cialisis or pronhub showing up on their phones based upon my searches.

well you should be doing your searches not in google, and in incognito mode then.
It would be dumb to search in google, knowing your google account is likely connected to your wife and childrens devices as well. Same for youtube.

My son was talking to me about a conversation he had over the phone yesterday with a Marine Corps recruiter. About an hour later, I'm on my phone and see an ad for the armed forces recruiting center.
The phone hears all. Knows all.

So I hit youtube today on my laptop and guess what the first suggested video was? gordon ramsey on hot ones.
shite stinks, man.

Hell, it started measuring how long I'm sleeping the day I got up at 5 am to go to Walmart. I barely got six hours of sleep that night, and it's going to be in my average all week long. Went to bed before 9 pm last night, and slept until 7 am in an effort to make it look like I'm getting enough rest.
