The random double spaces and randomly capitalized words are a dead giveaway that's a scam email. Foreign scammers mess shite up like that all the time.

The smart ones will embed logos of Microsoft, Apple, PayPal, etc... in the emails to make them look more legitimate, but there's always a slight variation from the company's real logo.

Ive always maintained that the guy who could put the end to spam/scam calls and text could win any election he enters.

Same thing just happened to my dad. They called him, said I hit a pregnant woman and would be in jail without bond if I didn’t bring 18k to the courthouse. They put “me” on the phone to tell him to pay it and that I had broken my nose in the crash and that’s why I sounded weird.

Dad drove to my house to see if I was there since I was on work calls and not answering my cell phone.

Stupid post.

People in the 70-90 age group didn't grow up on the internet or with a cell phone in their hand. They have no idea how these scammers operate.

I would laugh my arse off if they tried to tell me that my kid is in jail.

Kid is a goody two-shoes, which is a good thing.

Call came to my Dad to inform him that his grandson is in jail in Jackson, Mississippi and if he wanted to get him out a call would come later telling him what to do.

The problem is sometimes you do get in trouble and call your family for help. My nephew called last week from jail. Luckily his bail was only $600 in Racetrak gift cards. You just have to know how to spit these scammers.

Lock them all up. They were really ANTIFA terrorists posing as conservatives, anyway.

It's not that, it's mostly that the elderly are in a gradual cognitive decline. Their frontal lobes don't function as well as when they were younger.

Oh, I'm certain that these scammers are probably on some FBI "watch list" that we'll hear about when one of these calls goes all to shite.

I had one of these Indian scammers on the line for 2 hours one time leading him on.

Dude could have bitten a rail spike in two after he finally hung up.

Plus folks in that age range feel compelled to answer the phone and trust others.

Mark Rober got 3 of them shut down in India, first with some glitter bombs and then he was able to get law enforcement involved and shut them down, although i'm sure they just opened up another call center somewhere else.
LINK

and i think we should find out where they are, and bomb the building secretively.

When I worked at the bank I would come across an elderly person being scammed a few times a month.

It was so common, that I would have the tellers come and get me if an older person was pulling a large amount of money out of the bank, or have them sit at my desk if they requested a cashier's check for over $1,000.00.

I was able to save some of them from doing something stupid a few times this way.

One of them was a woman who was instructed to wire money because her grandson was in jail in Mexico.

"So your grandson is in Mexico? Did you know he was taking a trip there?"

"No I didn't know. But they won't let him out unless I send them this money."

"Ok. Why don't we give your grandson a call right now to make sure he's ok."

We called the grandson, and he was at home, confused why the bank was calling him and why his grandma thought he was in Mexico.

Actually younger people are the most scammed people now. It has to do with online purchasing.

Same here. 85 yr old MIL started crying when scammer, posing as grandson, told her about his wreck and needing money to get out of jail. She told him he didn’t sound like her grandson and he said his jaw was cracked, etc. he gave her a phone number of the lawyer that could get him out of jail……

FIL heard her and took the phone, listened for a few seconds and hung up. She was upset for several days about that stupid call.

My conspiracy theory is the phone company wants to ditch its legacy infrastructure so is trying to make its landlines unusable by allowing these scammers to run rampant.
