Where did they make it? Where did the tower come from?
According to the guy I talked to about it who works for Sasol, the tower was built in India. The boiler (their heaviest move) was built in China.
They both came in on the same barges.

I watched that big mother fricker get set up at Chevron Pascagoula a few years back. Really amazing stuff.

People can do some amazing things. Build, move and operate this while others are turning a Spinach leaf into blood carrying heart tissues. What an amazing spread of inguinity amongst people.

Actually they were built in Mexico. There are 3 boilers total.

Interesting. Thanks for the link.
The China/India info was relayed to me by a Sasol employee so I may have misunderstood him.

Calcs are submitted to a LA engineering firm for review and stamping by a LA PE... at least for the parts of the project I worked on.

Its awesome to see us doing the things we ought to be doing. Too bad that unit wasn't built here, as well.

Is Fluor still doing the EPC or did it get split? I know quite a few guys out there.

Fluor and Technip joined to make FTI, they are running the project.

It's the wash tower for the EO/EG unit. 1100 tons before it was dressed out.
