And over 60% of their kids are habitually absent from school. Why do you think that is?

They don’t run the school on CP Time?

When a group had a 27.7 Reading inventory performance, and yet 86% of that same group graduates, there is an issue.

Given those numbers it’s crazy that 45.7% if blacks say they are enrolled in a 2 to 4 year college. If that’s not trade school it’s one of the problems, convincing them they need to go to college when they obviously don’t. It’s so the schools can bump up their numbers to look diverse I’m sure

So here are some thoughts.
Latinos are behind blacks when entering school but more than catch up during school. Probably because they are better behaved and less absent (how do they define chronic absent - it's still way too high).
It's sad that math and english proficiency is not required to graduate high school. This is at all racial levels - the percentage of kids graduating is higher than the percentage who are proficient.
If Latinos are doing better than blacks in high school across various measurements... then why are fewer of them actually graduating high school? This is, to me, the only stat that deserves further research.

Noticed Hispanics start off being less ready for kindergarten than blacks and then outside of HS graduation rate they pass blacks ups in being ready for high school, ready for college, reading, math, and being enrolled in a 2yr or 4yr college. They also have a much lower suspension rate and less horrible chronically absent rate than blacks.
I know this is one year survey and not necessarily watching same class over time, but for academics the Texas STAAR testing I used to look at would have similar results for blacks and Hispanics over time. Like San Francisco the Texas results probably had some illegals and a lot of kids starting kindergarten that lived in homes where English is barely spoken or at least not main language (so Ebonics not the problem).
These numbers for blacks as a group are only going to improve if personal responsibility is pushed for blacks over victimhood. This includes the blacks that do things right and succeed in breaking out of broken black urban culture. They have to start expecting the same from other blacks instead of still thinking them to be victims.

The Democrats have institutionalized black people. They are totally dependent on Democrats for their success, which is as backward as you can get. Keep believing lies, just because someone is saying what feels good....

Those chronically absent and reading proficient numbers are staggeringly bad

Black students are losing ground once the school system gets its hands on them. Yuge dropoff of kids who were up to speed the first day of kindergarten.

Yea but when your parents are too stupid worrying about shite that doesnt matter, then what language they speak doesn't matter.

This will never happen, so its time to plan for a future society where this problem is never fixed/gets worse.

Something wrong with these numbers. Maybe it's 86% of the ones that didn't drop out.

You look at the numbers yet 86% graduated high school

Meanwhile, the future will be designed by those with strong family unit, focused on productivity and education, and the resources to make a difference.
The USA exceptionalism sold on certain networks is in dire straits.
Productive step forward would be to pull together those who aspire to greatness for next generation and take only “yes” for answer when demanding excellence by all involved. For those who are lost, Destin system of opportunity that fits their needs. Accept USA exceptionalism is over.
Sorry. It goes the way of the family unit.

Interesting that 70% of whites are ready for Kindergarten but only 47% are ready for high school...and the miraculously the high schools reverse that trend and damn near 66% are ready for college. Calling BS on that.
