the progressive idiots who think that by doing this they’re saving the world.

everybody used to shite in the street
doesn’t mean there’s not a better way to live and not trash up the nest

a one liter bottle of Aquafina costs about 2 dollars
gasoline costs about 2 dollars per gallon
who’s making money on bottled water again?

Why do people use plastic bottles even with plenty of alternatives out there?
Posted on 8/3/19 at 12:43 pm to cgrand
Sure there's a better way. But in the meantime, I will use what is being sold. Come up with different packaging, and I will use that.
Posted on 8/3/19 at 12:47 pm to cgrand
That analogy doesn't even make sense to my argument.
Posted on 8/3/19 at 1:05 pm to RealityTiger
sure it does
you’re saying the idea of phasing our single use bottles is just a way for others to make money on that plan. You’ve ignored how much money is made selling those single use bottles
look man I’m not going to convince you or anyone else that they are a bad idea if you won’t accept that paying a super-premium for tap water is galacticly stupid and that less plastic waste is better than more plastic waste. Just consider how much money SFO is foregoing in revenue by doing this and maybe think twice about tossing yet more of your own money away by buying water in a bottle

There's still human feces all over the streets, a completely lost aimless youth problem, an exploding homeless problem, and a drug epidemic in San Fran right? I'm sure this will help. Good job government.

But does SF have good tap water?
Posted on 8/3/19 at 1:40 pm to cgrand
I can buy a 24 pack of water for $3.99 - $4.99. That's not exactly breaking me. I earn that much at work just fixing a cup of coffee or going to get my water bottle out the fridge.
I'm not against coming up with new ways of packaging, and I'm not pro trash and throwing shite all out on the street. But I'm not a fan of somebody preaching to me either. Because the truth is, as much as you think the way I do things is ridiculous about one thing, I could dig into the way you do things and find three things. That's my point.
And what's ironic about bringing up throwing trash on the street and San Francisco, there is a fricking EPIDEMIC of junkies shooting up and tossing their needles all over the place (that the city provides to them free of charge). They're shitting in front of businesses (on the street) to where people avoid going to those businesses. Where's the collective outrage on that from San Francisco? Wouldn't you say that's more of a problem for them to tackle than the airport passerby who buys a bottled water to take on the plane or drink in the airport? And, by the way, those same people will toss it in the trashcan when finished.
But as with everything with the progressive crowd, they turn their head to the real problem and focus on those who are minding their business and doing things the right way. Almost as if to make up for the fact that there's a segment that's out of control.

And it's a retarded point.
I wish I could say I was surprised by this thread, but I'm not.
First, I don't see why anyone would even give a shite about this, it's not like you don't have about a dozen alternatives, and secondly I don't know why you would think producing less plastic isn't a good thing. Again, you have plenty of alternatives, one of which being free.
BUT MUH LIBERALS

But they aren't encouraging people to do that. They are banning the normal water bottle.
Encouraging the use of reusable bottles would be putting in water bottle fillers.

I just don't understand why you give a frick. This is such a non deal yet there's two dozen people in this thread absolutely melting

Why? Why is it a good thing? The stated aim was to reduce the carbon footprint. How does that reduce the carbon footprint? None of you can prove this. You just want to feel like you’re doing something so you can feel better about yourselves.
