Just another grift that preys on the hearts of those with good intentions for financial gain.

So I say just leave them alone. Provide them places to camp and then move them occassionally, cleaning up their mess with backhoes and loaders. After all, it's still a free country.

The problem is that some of them won’t leave others alone. The guy Penny killed on the subway, for instance. He was threatening people and i think tried to kidnap a child. Panhandling. The young woman who was killed by one while working in a store in California. It’s about protecting the public just as much if not more than it is about helping them. But, the ones who can be helped could become members of the law-abiding public. Some of them, anyway.

San Francisco is doing a good job building affordable housing. Most of the people they help are regular people who need a home. The article highlights people with drug and mental health issues. This is good clickbait but this isn’t the typical scenario.

I think it’s time that we as a society accept the fact that some people are just feral, and that’s the way it will always be.

The bottom line is you cannot help someone that does not want to help themselves.

Give most people stuff for nothing and they have nothing invested in it, so they shite all over it and the people trying to help them------nothing new to see.

How many parents on this site gave their kids a hand-me-down car when they were heading out to college?

Now, how many of these same kids trashed the car either by wrecking it or simply not taking minimal care of it?

That level of responsibility usually only comes when they are toting the note on a vehicle and they have a vested interest in keeping it up.

No way in hell they should be housing these fricking bums with most of them being alcoholics and drug addicts with no desire to work to improve their lot.

This. Those people are so far gone they don’t want to be better

Zero excuse to be homeless in the U.S. if you want a home with the govt programs we have and jobs available. This isn’t 1880 where if you lose your job your landlord tosses you into the street when you cant pay rent and there’s no govt welfare programs to provide shelter and food

Don't forget all projects were brand new at one point too. People generally don't appreciate stuff other people pay for.

Throwing money and stuff at them isn't going to do a damn thing other than make liberal retards feel good about themselves.

They also pocket a lot of the money running these "non profits" where the "administration" costs go straight to their bank accounts.

I feel for the mentally ill, most dont have anyone to help keep them on meds.
Some of these folks are legitimately not able to care for themselves, its not their fault.

The addicts are usually the problem and seem to be the most aggressive.

This we agree on.

Do yall remember that poster that was looking for his brother? He was out in cali just living on the streets.

In one of the videos that was posted about him he basically said he can just live out there and have no responsibility. That’s what a lot of these people want. They are given money from the city or state and can go dumpster diving rich areas to get shite to resell or trade.

Then they just do drugs the rest of the time.

There are also those gutter punk types that pass through cities. They are like hobos. Transient homeless folks.
