No it isn't.

The first Sam's in Memphis just closed.

You don't judge a place by whether a supermacho OT baller would go there

You judge it on whether you'd send your female(s) -- wife, SO, mother, daughter -- there alone, especially at night

Who'd a thunk the Daily Mail would have a full list of the closures.

A complete list of USA closures

I'm pretty sure my wife went to that Academy after work last week...and goes to that BBY a good bit too.

That academy isn't terrible unless it's back to school time but the Siegen location is much better. I wouldn't let my wife go to Cortana during the day, not that she has any reason to. She doesn't shop at urban clothing stores. What else is left?

My mom, who is old and stuck in her ways will be upset. She still goes.. Well, went there because that's the one she always went to.

Seems every time I was in that Sam's a couple of hood rats were checking out with a flat cart STACKED with vending junk food. I'm convinced they use their food stamps to buy that crap and sell it to hood gas station and vending machine owners. Does Costco not take food stamps?

With that being said, I'll miss that Sam's. Was an easy location to get to if you lived on the west side of the river. I hope the Lowe's doesn't close, but that's the only thing left in that "hole". The Academy and Home Depot should be safe for a while.

Cortana Mall was nice until the Mall of Louisiana opened.

Cortana Mall was such a pleasant experience back in the mid 80's. I was a kid. I guess the good times don't last forever. :(

Question for the OT lawyers: How does this not violate the WARN Act?

Yes but there is no financial penalty if Sams gives qualified employees severence pay equal to at least 60 days of their salary.

A lot of companies go this route because if you give employees notice, you run the risk of them filing a bunch of comp claims and stealing everything.

As it should. Costco puts Sam's to shame.
