I've got a friend on Bayou Texar in Pensacola a with a house on Pensacola Beach so any updates/pictures from that area are appreciated so I can pass on.
Sounds like the 4G is out over there or something.

what's the odds a place on the way back to Louisiana can replace a front passenger side window in a Ford Transit passenger van?

Slim and none. Most auto glass places get a delivery every night for the glass they need from a regional warehouse. So you would need to contact them and they would have the window the next day or two.

I've been seeing people post pictures out in mobile at least, i think mobile bay area is probably out of the major impacts now.

The newly constructed, multimillion dollar Three Mile Bridge is missing a huge chunk today due to #Sally. This is the same bridge that was struck by a barge yesterday morning. Construction barges are coming across shore around downtown this morning. This is not great

I wonder what travel will be like trying to get over mobile bay this weekend

I imagine the Bayway will be open later today. I doubt you would have any problem getting across the bay. We went across the bay a couple days after Ivan.

are these bridges designed to do that? i remember this happening during katrina.

Uhhhhh No they are not designed to float away during a storm. Someone didn't secure this "new bridge" correctly.

Proof they simply make things faster now, not necessarily always better

've had a few people pass up on buying my condo there strictly because they do not like the building. Im laughing because i bet that changes when people start looking to buy again

Funny you say that. I seriously looked at buying one there this past spring and my wife was totally turned off by it but I told her that joker will be there when some of those other ones are blown up to about Atmore

doesn't mean that the 5-mile bridge isn't a piece of shite

that bridge is closed down for work more than its open... in fact I'm fairly certain it's closed right now for maintenance

Didn’t they just put a new super duper hurricane proof roof on a few years back?
