You gonna believe the Weather Channel over me?

Meatloaf came out great. Packing up and heading North now before 59 becomes impassable which is doubtful but 8pm curfew has me on the move. The Dunes in Gulf Shores are the highest I’ve ever seen them so they should hold. The Lagoon and The Bay are my concerns for major flooding and structural damage.

To your question, check out the history of Hurricane Ivan to see how a same name would work.
Ivan sets the bar for crazy tracks and lifespan. It had a bit of everything.

Local news from Mobile has the storm coming in on the West tip of Fort Morgan and then into Point Clear in Baldwin County, Alabama.
We shall see...
Dauphin Island just had a 73 MPH wind gust.

Likely some mesvort action going on in the right now, too.
Duke, you've definitely got your TC genesis and eye wall development data fill on this one. Being so long actually over water but within multiple radar sites is almost unheard of.

It’s gonna be a long 24 hours along the coast. Those aren’t incredibly strong winds and they’re not going to be incredibly strong. Buildings, trees, and power lines can withstand that but when you get hours and hours up to days of that wind speed it’s like LSU’s offensive line in 2011 pounding and pounding away in the 1st half. Then by the 4th quarter the other teams given up and they start getting bulldozed and fall over.

Flora-bama landfall...who would have thunk it? They are going to make a good T-shirt out of this one.

Three radar sites with days of data. Yes please.
And no doubt Boat, there's no knockout punch but just body blow after body blow.

Absolutely, a real bring your lunch pail mentality.
Nothing flashy, no big 60 yard bombs, just keep pounding it up the middle off tackle, nickel and dime you for 4, 5, 6 here and there...then before you know it, yep Michael Ford is breaking it and gaps become bigger and bigger and streaks for a long run taking down pine trees and causing roof damage all the way down the sidelines.
And then you're looking around your backyard saying, WTF..she didn't even a damn First down at half time.

I could say North Northeast but that wouldn't be quite accurate. What do you want me to do give a heading like the Hurricane Hunters do?
Just east of due north and everyone knows what I mean. Weather Nazis....

This confused, slow moving hurricane is really the Les Miles of hurricanes. Especially if it makes it to Florida and doesn't beat Bama.

It's going to be the first hurricane that does more damage to grass than trees.

I’m just incredibly disappointed in the 56 hour prediction accuracy of this thing
I can remember the days of handwritten tracks and picking up plotter charts at A&P and plotting the coordinates. Computers literally didn’t exist. Yes I am old
Today though. We have big time ability and I admit, predictions are better but this one just throws me off.
On Sunday, this thing was headed to Louisiana. Today, over 145 miles east. That’s a big swing.
Confidence is waning.
