Do they have a generator or can you make a play for one? Because they may be without power for days, and someone in poor health can really wither in those conditions

Are you remotely in a position to be able to go there and help? Prayers for your family ... this all sucks.

It’s called gallows humor, and this thread is going to be full of it for the next day or so. Fair warning.

It's the rant

We're really only concerned about how we are doing, not anyone else

One of the things I hate about our media...

11 am... "Hurricane Sally has formed"

No, dipshit... we have had Sally for a while... it was upgraded to a hurricane now. It's not like this storm just came up 10 minutes ago.

I guess it would be better to phrase it as “tropical storm sally has formed into a hurricane” but you’re really nitpicking here

No. They are saying a Tuesday landfall... not enough time to intensify. It may reach hurricane strength, but will not get to a cat 2. Even though the weather channel is hoping it will.....

It just makes it seem more dramatic/overplayed than it needs to be. Just another example of over the top hype I believe.

Just got a chance to look at this at work. I have family and several properties in Orange Beach. What indicators or things should I look at to determine if I need to get over that way to help or direct them to GTFO
