shite - my folks are in Mobile and can't leave due to my Dad's health......hopefully it doesn't get as bad as i'm afraid it will.
Are you remotely in a position to be able to go there and help? Prayers for your family ... this all sucks.

It’s called gallows humor, and this thread is going to be full of it for the next day or so. Fair warning.

It's the rant

Poster whose parents are in mobile and can’t get to them let me know what I can do to help. I live in Mobile and will be happy to go check on them bring them water batteries whatever they need.

One of the things I hate about our media...
11 am... "Hurricane Sally has formed"
No, dipshit... we have had Sally for a while... it was upgraded to a hurricane now. It's not like this storm just came up 10 minutes ago.
I guess it would be better to phrase it as “tropical storm sally has formed into a hurricane” but you’re really nitpicking here

It just makes it seem more dramatic/overplayed than it needs to be. Just another example of over the top hype I believe.

Just got a chance to look at this at work. I have family and several properties in Orange Beach. What indicators or things should I look at to determine if I need to get over that way to help or direct them to GTFO
