they are off 98 - between 65 and moffett - not close to the water thankfully, but a LOT of tall pines around their house. a lot of water could make for potential flooding, but they may be ok there.
may be in cleanup mode next week.

When is Sally supposed to make that jog west? She keeps moving NW with Mobile taking a direct hit.
It's currently moving WNW. The north movement earlier was organizational in nature.

There's nothing you can do in these storms other than ride it out and drink beer. Have a hurricane party if you're going to brave it out. That's about all you can do if you're in the path and not willing to leave.

Pines are not good trees for this. Those frickers love to snap in the middle and carry a little bit. Also, it's looking likely they would be without power for an extended period of time.
ETA: I know the Mobile area very well, so anyone in coastal Alabama, I will know what area you're talking about and general risks.

Just left Costco in Mobile and it is a zoo....the amount of water and beer leaving that place is high. Coworker just said gas stations are out of gas near them in Fairhope.
I just left there 10 minutes ago to get some drinks for lunch at work. What a zoo.

You might have to look at porn the old school way if the power goes out. Get your Hustlers now.

I've got some pine trees around my house and those big bastards are coming out as soon as I can get someone scheduled. All they do is snap in hurricanes and drop pine cones and straw all over the yard. Good for nothing

TWC wants this thing to go to NO so bad.

they do not have a generator, but are prepared pretty well for it - thankfully nothign with my dad's health is power regulated, so that is a plus - just may be hot as hell is all.
just hate they can't get out in time. hope all in Mobile or has family there is safe - I was 3 and don't remember much of Frederick, but i do remember stories of it from family members.
2020 can choke ona dick

I would think that area would be zero threat of flooding. Mobile doesn't really flood at all unless you live on the actual water and some parts of downtown.

Were is Stephanie Abrams?

If, God forbid, the forecast track misses and the storm doesn't take that abrupt right turn back to the NNE, New Orleans is in for a terrible surprise.

A lot more people dependent on government in the NO area. Media coverage of resourceful and responsible people is boring.

Must know something we don't if they put Cantore in NO

their property, while up a slope is not far from one of the watersheds to the bay, so storm surge plus 2 feet (potential rain) could prove interesting - but i'm more worried about the trees and the winds

Have friends that live on Fowl River in Theodore. They have a whole home generator and are riding it out.

Fairhope checking in (and first time homeowner just since July).
Office in downtown Mobile is closing at 2PM. Going to make a beer run on the way home, and ride this one out with a pregnant wife. Sheesh.

Sounds good. I’ll be on standby let me know if there’s anything I can do to help. We live between South Alabama in Springhill college and I can get some buddies to round up some chainsaws if needed.
again don’t be afraid to reach out if they need anything
