Has anyone ever delved into why Florida, with all the coastline it could ever want, needs to reach over and steal most of Alabama's?
Because no one wants to go to Alabama for vacation.

While on the topic of useless coastline information, today I learned that Alaska has over half of the traditional coastline in the US.
Oh, and LA has the third largest tidal shoreline behind Alaska and Florida.

I'm not ready to light a victory cigar in NOLA just yet. Especially with how close it gets

We need lawsuits when these kids find out they havn't learned anything in 2 years. There's such a thing as fiduciary responsibility.
Great way to show how non-litigious parents can be by saying we should sue over bullshite like that.

Slow strengthening and expected slowing forward speed. On schedule.
Last big east shift in, as they've been sitting west of guidance waiting for the trend to keep going.

The way schools indoctrinate kids these days, I think they’re better off every minute they aren’t in a classroom.

Nola will have virtually 0 impact. Why? Because too many people are silently hoping it goes come here to ramp up their adrenaline. It's not coming any further west.

So this storm is going to take 24 hours to go from roughly the mouth of the MS river, to Biloxi.
Also, 36H 16/0000Z 29.8N 89.1W 80 KT 90 MPH
That's just off the eastern marshes of St. Bernard. If it's wrapping the water north and then west around it, and it's moving that slowly, the water issues in Lake Borgne and Lake P and surrounding area outside the levee system is going to be rather high for a Cat 1.
People are talking about "landfall" in MS but it's going to take a close shave on Plaquemines and lower St Bernard, and that's with the storm taking an almost right hand turn at the mouth of the river.
