In all seriousness, this is not the time to troll. This is a serious matter - A thug lost his life.

No I couldn't see what he was selling. I was wondering what this guy was selling

Alton made the decision that led to his death
Sure did. Doesn't excuse Salamoni for also being stupid.

So it’s ok to threaten people with a gun as long as they are bums
The logic being put forth in this thread is puzzling at best
Just so we’re clear:
It’s ok to be a convicted felon and brandish a firearm and threaten someone, while also being high on drugs and selling “CD’s” (aka drugs) at a convenience store. You can also resist arrest and reach for said gun. You get a pass.

It's not exactly a great look for BRPD when Salamoni rolls up on the scene yelling "I'll shoot you in the head mother fricker!" That part I suppose gives them the out they were looking for as far as training and temperament goes.
Yeah I didn't really like the way he rolled up on him either. How hard is it to relax and just talk to the guy man to man instead of coming out with your gun drawn and man handling him and screaming your going to kill him and shite. Not defending Alton but he did have his hands on the car like they asked and the reaction he received from the cops is just your typical reaction out of fear.
They really need to give these recruits better stress testing and weed out the ones that can't hack it. Being in law enforcement is a very stressful job. I've seen cops in New Orleans roll up on calls of a shooting in progress with basically their hands in their pocket whistling and kicking rocks. So calm and cool under pressure. That really reduces liability for the Department and Foster's Goodwill with the public

Sweet Jesus. Where did all these sterling apologists come from?
I'm not an aapologist but just use a tad bit of common sense and remove emotion.
It's been known forever that this entire thing was caused by a bum who called the cops. People are constantly bitching about homelands people begging at stores and intersections all over town.
Sterling was just stopping the due from bothering people. If he was that violent and crazy wouldn't he have just shot the homeless man on the spot ? He was shoooing him away like a stray dog.
If Sterling was arrested as many times as had been why had he not had a situation go that bad before ?
Put yourself in his shoes for a minute and see how you would react after the cops show up and immediately put a gun to your head and tell you they are gonna kill you. You see the life leave his body still confused as to why this is happening. Probably never dawned on him it was because he got rid a nuisance around a store he was set up in front of
More importantly what homeless guy has a cell phone ?

I did not think this before, but After seeing the new video, he should be fired. He rolled up in there saying he was going to f’ing shoot him in the head if he moved and the guy was not aggressive at that point.

Saint Alton just keeps becoming more noble the more time that passes.

I thought you were trolling because it has been reported 1000's of times that it was CD's.
Many people thought he was selling drugs from the table. He did not have time to dispose of any drugs before LE arrived. Had he been in possession of any drugs, on his person or in his inventory of CD's, it would surely have been in the reports.

In reference to the “a thug lost his life “ portion of the comment......
I know some time has passed, but don’t forget that this event put in motion the circumstances that caused (I believe) 8 police officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge to lose their lives. AS was not the only one to lose his life as a result of this encounter.

You are a special kind of dumb.

Bc the gun fell out his waistband instead of being in his pocket

just keep going back to the moment when Salamoni went in for the tackle. At that moment, Sterling was standing with his hands out to the side and the cops were at a safe distance and drawn on him. He was contained even though still not being compliant.
They could have held him there waiting for back up and shot him if he went for his pocket or charged them in the meantime.
Salamoni going in for the tackle was unnecessary and caused the whole thing.
He repeatedly made a risky situation outright dangerous

you're giving way too much benefit of the doubt to someone that was clearly a piece of shite given his past. Sorry it is what it is there.
I don' agree with salamoni's tactics but that's the risk you run brandishing a firearm trying to act hard

Salamoni's tactics are grounds for removal from the force. Period.
