Still didn't stop the chapter from being shut down after an incident and the whole wvu greek system from being suspended this fall for multiple incidents that made the school look bad.

Not quite. Companies do google/facebook searches now before hiring people. A search pops up with that video and that kid isn't gettng hired.

Yeah, that's the other misconception undergrads have, that their alums will save them through boycotting the university or some bullshite like that. Most alums stopped giving a shite the day they graduated, and the involvement of the rest stops at writing a $20 check if they're feeling generous when the annual fundraising letter arrives. The alums sure as hell aren't going to bat to keep a bunch of idiots from reaping the consequences of their actions.

Yup, my group of friends is mostly all UT A&M and OU kids and everybody knows each other's shite. I think kids in school don't realize how that network of friends translates into your group of friends postgrad if you move to a major alumni base

I went through 3 years of rush, and I can probably count on one hand the number of black guys that came through. There's obviously a racial divide, but it's not like we would escort them out of the house, because they had no shot.
I will admit, I couldn't see them ever getting a bid, because there are going to be several people against it and that's all it takes. But that doesn't mean that there was this outward "everyone hates minorities" feeling when you walked into our house.

Clearly there is racial divide, but I think it is more of an unwritten rule.
I personally would have never thought to try and pledge at a white fraternity. Not because of anything they said or did though.

At WVU its almost as everyone competes for the black guys going through rush if they are not thugs.
For me I already knew where I was going b/c my friends from my freshman year dorm pledged the semester before.
When you meet chapters from the outside the south lots of them are diverse.
When we went to Cabo with all the other chapters, the ole miss guys kept saying we really want black guys to rush
