Wrestlers are actors on stage. The problem arises when the individual can't separate himself from the character he is portraying and actually becomes that imaginary person in their own mind and craves the attention it gives him.

Are you contending that Ric Flair didn't make over a million in salary for a lot of his career? Because I think you'd be wrong.
Also, that's a pretty awesome picture IMO. That dude is doing what he absolutely loves to do. And if he can take it, then who cares?

Taken with a grain of salt, Google is saying that he didn’t start making more than 750k until the mid to late 90s. I just don’t think he had a long period in which he was making more than 1 million from whatever company
Of course there is no telling how much he got off of endorsements
