It doesn’t matter super much how early you catch it. It “helps” but it “helps” like you get in the 3%.
Lots of people smarter than me have thought about this so I’m sure I’m wrong but given the high death rate, I figure risk profiles of treatment goes out of the windows. Some drugs seem to work.

It’s also worth remembering that a prominent judge and her friend were attacked at the Louisiana Tech Rec Center, and her friend was killed.
There has been a lot of serious pedestrian tragedy involving Louisiana Tech students and the blind students as well.

Seems like its likely you've swam in it, bathed in it, drank it, etc.
It seems like the most likely path to get it is via flooding your sinuses as a young kid with stagnant lake or pond water. The little nerves passing theough that porous bone arent completely developed yet and the demonic little amoeba has an easier path to your brain that way.
The fact that there have been so few cases in louisiana where everyone is spending all summer swimming in stagnant water means one of two things 1) very few of us have any brains to be eaten or 2) it takes a combination of shitty circumstances to actually get infected. Basically, just bad luck. This poor girl just had a stroke of bad luck. I hope her family is able to find peace. Idk if I could carry on after such a blow.
