Yes, which is why when people like her bemoan America and its justice system, it makes me laugh.

yes

Many Americans struggled through Turkish Prisons in the 70's, She'll live. She'll probably not break laws of foreign nations anymore either.

We'll probably give her the Bergdhal treatment. 5 high level Russians for one pothead lesbian basketball player.

This has nothing to do with whether it’s a harsh punishment or not.

The harshness of the punishment doesn't make me feel bad. You play stupid games, win stupid prizes

Trump hates Griner too much for that.

I doubt he hates her, but you are free to think so if you wish.

Trump still would have gotten her home already, and without having to give up an arms dealer.

Really, I doubt this even happens if Trump were still in power. Because Russia never would have invaded Ukraine with a real man in the White House, so they wouldn't have arrested an American "celebrity" for optics.

Well sure. You aren’t experiencing the punishment and Grinder isn’t a very sympathetic figure to many.

My statement was just one of opinion bordering on fact. It wasn’t designed to induce empathy or sympathy.

He has since then acknowledged that Trump’s involvement in that assault case made that process worse.

What a surprise.
The same lineup of posters find little sympathy for the victims of judicial excess when the victim is black. Here, black, gay and a woman, so they have a trifecta.
Do so much as investigate or subpoena any white male from the Trump administration and the whole federal judicial system must be burned to the ground...

There is a way that she does not have to serve the 9 years

She could end her sentence today for example

Other then her having a small amount of fame, what legitimate reason is there for the government to involve itself in this matter?

Griner should be willing to sacrifice it all for Ukraine. Why give the Russians more ammunition in their unjust war by giving them back arms dealers and spies? Griner and her bleating advocates need to get with the program and ask how would this benefit Dear Leader Zelensky? Griner has a moral obligation to serve this sentence in its entirety so that Russia cannot benefit.

You're wrong about this. I don't find little sympathy, I find none. She chose to break the law over there. She got caught. End of story

A group of people falsely accused Russia of things for their own political gain and now Brittney is paying the consequences of their actions. There is a lesson here, but I expect people will choose to ignore it.

I haven’t blamed anyone but Griner. It’s ok to acknowledge a harsh punishment without removing blame from Griner and without expecting the government to intervene.
