Right. It wasn't sexual assault. It was a sexual battery.

Could not agree more. No one can steal your "power" by doing that. If she turned to him and called him a POS then she would actually gained more and I would respect her. The way she cries about it I believe she never had any power to begin with.

The reporter is surely enjoying her moment in the victim spotlight but you don't just slap random women on the arse, especially in today's culture. The guy is an idiot

It can be bad without needing to be on TV or otherwise publicized.

That's the blind spot people have developed over the last few years. You don't need to seek social media retribution for every stupid slight or provocation you experience.

In theory, I agree 100% but the fact that so many people in this thread think it is OK to commit what is an actual textbook sex crime in LA (and most other states) suggests to me that it still needs some more exposure.

Has the world really come to this?

I'm glad I got to enjoy the world when their weren't so many uptight fricks. I think of the times I was out with friends and the things that were said between guys and girls that today would probably end with some kind of law suit. frick! I hope some of the girls I spoke too haven't evolved into these and remember those times. I can't imagine what it's like out in the college bars these days...

"How do you do, ma'am?"

"Quite well, sir"

"Might I buy you a cocktail and then perhaps chat a bit? Please if I say anything that borders on the offensive, please hold your hand up and I will cease."

quote:

If that had happened 30 years ago, everyone would have gotten a hell of a laugh out of it (including the reporter, probably) and gone about their day.

I will guarantee it DID happen, including the reporter's laugh.

I wanna go back to the old days.

Do you have to put effort into being this stupid or does it just come naturally? Do you really not know the answer to your question?

It was not sexual assault. It was not assault. It was a guy doing something inappropriate and stupid. But THE NEWS ARTICLE and the "victim", and people on this board act as if he should be prosecuted in a court of law. It is an overreaction and without a doubt she is an attention seeker and playing it up more than it needs to be.

they probably just hop on an app and find someone to come over for a quick frick and maybe some arse eating. Pretty standard these days

Just because you don't agree with the laws does not make them any less real or enforceable.

ETA: I'm curious what you'd consider the elements of a simple battery or assault to be and also sexual battery or assault.

Don't touch other people seems like a good way to go through life. I don't get why that's a difficult concept.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up for me too.

This thread actually delivers, in that it separates the people who have some common sense and general decency, from those who think it’s ok to go around slapping random women youve never met on the arse... Then they have the nerve to say WE’RE the problem.... The guy who did this isnt guilty of sexual assault, but he is an entitled prick, and i’m glad that most of his ilk are dying off, just wish it would happen sooner.

Every one of these good old boys that say this is no big deal would be saying they'd kick someone's arse if they slapped their wife or adult daughter's arse.
