Roofing companies are out of control

I don't know if it's everywhere but in Baton Rouge it's insane.
At minimum 3 days per week I have some "roofing expert" come knock on the door trying to sell me on hail damage. It's usually some mid 30's baw driving a jacked up F250 who has no education and just shams insurance companies because they couldn't make it anywhere else in life
Are they the new slimy car salesman?

Yep. All over facebook now after hail storms. If I need a new roof, I'm going to look for a company and call them, I don't need you soliciting.

It's pretty basic bro...hail storm comes...roofing bros know they can get 2X as much from insurance to replace the whole roof than the homeowner is willing to pay cash price. Why wouldn't they hustle and try to get 20K for a 10K job?

pricing is outright stupid. My dad's roof is getting replaced tomorrow and it's 3x more expensive than it was around 5 years ago.

Storm chasers. It's a crap job but they are usually hustlers.
Me & a buddy drove up to MN one summer. The good ones made a crap ton of money. We didn't make shite. MN was fun for 2 weeks though.

Well they sure as hell are part of the reason that insurance rates are spiking and companies are leaving certain regions.
Between scams, litigation and the run of hurricanes on the gulf from LA to FL its not a huge mystery why the system is falling apart.

Bc it ends up screwing over the home owner. I can’t stand these guys. They’re just as bad ambulance chasing lawyers.

It has been almost non stop here in Central Florida after Ian came through last year. We got some quotes on a repair, got it fixed, but had a few that would never quote us a repair, only a replacement, trying to fast talk me into helping us with the deductible blah blah blah. Now they come over, look at my roof, and bad mouth the job the previous guy did and it's going to fail on me soon
