Why is this happening in America? I’ve never experienced this in my life.

JUST IN - Gov. Edwards warns #Louisiana faces the potential for rolling blackouts due to demand on electricity.

Is it really shocking coming from the democrat who has added battling "climate change" to his portfolio after he secured reelection?

That is why most people in the state have huge electric bill increases in January and February.
My electricity bill goes way down during winter.

1/3 of homes in Louisiana are heated using gas

My last house had electric central heat strips and I would never want to go back. It was insane watching how much more electricity it used to heat the house even with the thermostat on 65.

I have natural gas central heat now and would never go back. Most of the people I know still use some form of electric heat whether central or space heaters.

I'm thinking of going propane when I build.

That’s the smell of all those shoddy electric blankets.

Do you have natural gas for heat? Your bill will absolutely go down during the winter when it's mild and you don't have to heat.

With records low temps like this for a week it's probably taxing the grid more than ever. Not everything is a conspiracy

Have a lot of family and friends there still and they have rolling blackouts without any advanced warning even.

Propane is more expensive than natural gas but I would most certainly do that if natural gas is not available. If all else fell through, I would opt for a heat pump over straight electric heat.

Swepco in NWLa already started earlier today. Thankfully, they were able to stop after a couple of hours.

With all of the commercial kitchens and businesses they closed in EBR, you would think demand would go down. This is all just flexing for funding. It's what Democrats do. Tax and steal.

Electric heat strips suck arse, especially in an old double shotgun with high ceilings and cracks between the floors. That cold blast NOLA got in 2017, I think it was, our electric heat couldn't get to 50 degrees inside.

Well someone just provided the numbers, 33% of homes are heated by natural gas, I'd say another 5-7% by some fuel other than electricity...so 40% of homes are not causing a strain on the grid during winter, and you also have upwards of 100k without power. The math doesn't add up.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong as I've very loosely been following the news, but isn't Texas facing power deficits due to their windmill dependency?

The “Grid” is the big problem with the push to go green with electric vehicles. The “Grid” needs to increase SIGNIFICANTLY if people start purchasing electric cars at a high rate and then throw in a heat wave or polar vortex and the public is doubly screwed.

You do know jbe could tell entergy to cut power to make this look a lot worse
And he’s not making them do repairs quick either
Funny how covid is a non factor right now

Jbe will be on zoom
Where is he at on vacation?
