He was offered McCord.

Turned it down.

His conversations with ATC were nuts. He sounded like a nice guy having fun.

Looking at Ketron island on a map, he flew SW from SeaTac for about 20 miles to just southwest of Tacoma.

Kick the tires and the light the fires.

Probably a relative of DB Cooper.

Why not McCord tho?

JBLM is McCord.

I don't think there are any fighters at McCord, it's C-17s.

Nothing permanently assigned but I see fighters pretty regularly.

Video of F15 escorting it

Can also see an engine blow at the end possibly.

I've flown in and out of Sea-Tac before back in 2009 for the LSU-Washington game

He flew a lot further than that.

He mentioned flying out by Rainier and out towards the Olympics.

ATC had to persuade him to turn back before he blew past the Olympics and out over the Pacific out of range of SeaTac ATC.

Fox news has their heads so far up their collective asses about political bs they aren't even reporting it. ?

More than likely nobody there on Friday night and they're just rerunning shite from earlier. Although I've seen all the cable networks neglect breaking news in favor of political BS. they know their audience. The only people who watch cable news are the partisan fringe and senior citizens who haven't figured out how to get their news from the internet.

"Im just a broken guy. Got a few screws loose. Never really knew it till now."
"Think I'll try a barrel role and if that goes alright I'll just go nose down and call it a night"

Never understood why ATC's talk so fast. There's no way the comms are actually understood by everyone.

Shitty thing is that the plane crash ignited yet one more damn wildfire.

Fortunately it's a small island with a couple dozen residents. Tonight definitely sucks for them.

All that water in the Sound and he crashes on a small island.

I could definitely live on Puget sound. At least until the Cascadia tsunami.

Yep. Supposed to get a pretty good storm tomorrow. Hopefully helps.

Is the tower recording an amalgamation of frequencies or was all the traffic in the area hearing this guy talk appropriate altitude to pull off a barrel role in between the industry jargon of the tower controlers presumably getting everyone else out the sky or out the way?

Damn fine place to own a boat. And all those islands. It's far from tropical but the summers are nice.

I know some fellow LSU alums who spend much of the summer making their way from the South Sound up to Canada and back. Boat life is the best life.

In routine communications you usually know exactly what they are going to say and how they will say, for many things you also know there are only two or three possible responses so it is not difficult to extract the information you need at a fast pace.
