I always thought there was money in a movie/series with a pro wrestling serial killer. On the road all the time, endless access to drugs and women, physical and emotional stress.

If so this explains a lot of Marty’s demons.
The wrestlers with the most fricked up substance abuse issues are ones like Marty, Jake The Snake, and Scott Hall who have done or been subjected to a lot of fricked up stuff.
Hall killed somebody in self defense while he was a bouncer.
Jake’s life story is fricked up but the bigger parts have to be him getting molested by a parent and his sister getting murdered in a brutal fashion.

That one I don’t blame on him. The guy was barely trained and in like his second match then fricked up taking Marty’s move.
