And its no better then cheering a death.

You are showing your mental incompetence by HAVING to bring politics into it. You are no better than the leftist. Actually probably worse because people like you claim to be morally better but will still have to take a jab at someone.

Strange things always happen. Disagreed heartily with his personal politics and attention he received from faking news networks, but he was a good counter to Archie. RIP meaty.

Normally it wouldn't, but Reiner was uber political. Like more than even the average Hollywood liberal.

It's bad to say I don't care if he's dead?

It's bad to say that I'm viewed him as a POS?

You're either very sensitive or are trying to reach really hard to make something stick.

I'll go with the latter.

I didn't celebrate it l. I just don't care. It's really that simple.

Dude

Someone posted “Praying he isn’t brutally murdered ” and you made it a point to quote them and respond saying “you don’t care because they are a POS”

If you don’t understand why that’s a very shitty thing you aren’t someone who can be reasoned with

off topic but I often wonder why the showbiz types are so fanatically political about things that don't affect them at all, they live in a different world and are more or less immune to the day to day grind/struggles that most people live with

Most of these people forgot what its like to not be rich. Most of them believe everyone outside of 'their world' is living in poverty.

It's a more complicated answer than you may think, but most actors suffer from a lack of personal identity. They spend their whole lives pretending to be someone else. So they latch on to social causes to try to give their lives meaning. This is why they're also very susceptible to cults and other weird stuff.

as long as you didn't clutch your pearls too tight when the exact same thing was said about Charlie Kirk, then i'll allow it...

and yes, there were people who celebrated Kirk's death, just like there are some who are celebrating this one... and yes, the circumstances are a little different, as one was clearly a politically motivated assassination and one isn't, but people bringing Reiner's politics into it are making it political in nature, so the argument stands to reason...

So once again, why someone was brutally murdered matters for how people show their arse about it?

You are the one that originally equated them.

I don’t disagree with you that it is equally strange to say anything other than “RIP” or equivalent. But the impact of saying that type of thing is completely different in the two situations- one was murdered for their political viewpoints and the other in a domestic dispute. The former can be normalized and could be argued it already has been (and why it happened), the latter is an isolated incident involving Hollywood elite.

It could even be argued that equating the two is more similar to normalization of terrorist behavior than saying something very cold and heartless like the comments you are responding to. We aren’t going to stop people from being assholes, so trying to put these situations in the same category diminishes the very specific reason that cheering on Charlie’s death was and is condemned.

then why do people feel the need to chime in at all if they "don't care"

just annoying how these days so much shite like this has to be prefaced with a disclaimer about their political views.

was he really a POS that actively did horrible things or someone that just had a different viewpoint than you? Again, part of the problem these days is people think someone's ideology is tied to their moral character.

He likely supported causes and candidates I wouldn't, but does that make him a POS?

He went so far off the deep end with politics that he got crazy. Him and Stephen King. Both of them went nuts. I don't know about POS but they are both very hateful people. Full of hate for the right and conservatives
