In Alabama and Georgia, I see deer, possums, squirrels and dogs, mainly. An occasional coyote.

I travel I-85 a lot. I used to always see deer around Lagrange-Grantville, sometimes grazing in the median. I don't see as many now, never in the median. I think they are learning to graze along the side, but not cross. Of course, there is more traffic now too.

For years, I raced mountain bikes, all over Texas and every February there was a big race down in Terlingua Texas near the border. It was one of the best races on the calendar and so we went every year and it was always a good time. You’re out in the middle of nowhere close to Big Bend Park One year when we headed south down past Alpine. There’s a stretch where you’re really in the middle of nowhere in the desert and there’s just this one road heading south. It’s probably 20 miles of nothing and that particular year that 20 miles was littered with more dead jackrabbits and I’ve ever seen in my life. At first it was one or two and then it became just uncountable numbers of them everywhere along the road, almost like some kind of mass massacre. It was almost creepy to this day. I don’t know what happened to all those Jack rabbits but the population took a big hit.

I’m surprised how few wild hogs I see hit by cars, considering how large the population of them is.
They are very intelligent critters, guess they’re too smart to get on highways and get hit.

The Road Kill at Texas Roadhouse is sensational.

Charbroiled hamburger steak, topped with sauteed onions, mushrooms & Monterey Jack cheese. Served with two sides. Just add on a $2 cup of brown gravy to pour over the patty and you'll have a wonderful afternoon nap.

It was strange. Over 3 years I lived there, I hit 2. Always at night. Mostly out on the plains around billings. But saw quite a few dead.

Alligators. I saw a monster just NW of Krotz Springs.

One time when we were too young to drive me and MRtigerfan were riding with his dad when he hit a dove. I talked him into turning around so I could put it in the freezer.

We had a black bear get hit on I-85 around Suwanee (metro ATL) a few years back. He now graces the Bass Pro shop there.
