Do you think you will live long enough to see a day when there is no road construction between Lake Charles and Houston?
I can't honestly remember the last time there wasn't any.

The road construction on I-10 by Lafayette along with the radar drones seem to go on forever.

I remember being maaaaybe 10 going to Astroworld and there was construction.
I’m 36

Most of the time it doesn’t cause any big impacts at least, or maybe I’ve just been lucky

I got delayed an hour today in Orange on the way back to LC.
It's not just the delays, though. Some of the temporary roads are rougher than Louisiana back roads and can get scary bouncing around on them 6 inches from the concrete barriers they have up while an 18 wheeler is next to you on the other side.

They finally finished that mess in Sulphur by HERC rentals. Now there won’t be a bottle neck every time someone merges in because of the added lane. It will also simplify things at the i10/210 split.

I was about to be in that cluster but I got off at MLK to Hwy 87 then back to I10.

I have these same thoughts every time I make that trip

Dude, I agree 100%. I don’t know how someone doesn’t die at least once a day on seemingly endless evolving construction death trap. It’s a white-knuckles for sure.
Between that and the Basin, there is always a good chance my trip to BR is going to take 9 hours instead of the 4.5 that it should.

The only people who do were alive before the interstate was built.

ughh, welcome to my life.
we’ve given up and just take 190 to highway 12 every single trip back from BR. All it takes is one accident or traffic through never ending construction on I10 and it’s a 6-7+ hour drive.
With the alternate route it’s 5.5-6 hours every time regardless and much much less trucker traffic. It’s just a much safer and less stressful drive in comparison.
I’ve lived in Houston for almost a decade and a half now and traffic between LC and Houston, specifically in Orange and Beaumont, has been a constant. And it doesn’t seem like it’s even close to done in Orange.

And naturally on the way back to BR traffic was backed up to a near stop because 90% of traffic is trying to exit to 10 east. Although it was GameDay but I don't think it would have mattered.

On track to break the record for the construction on Hwy 90 between Houma and Morgan City.

Don’t think I’m gonna see a day with no road construction between Lake Charles and Lake Charles.
Seriously though, the 210/i10 merge is all kinds of asstastic right now.

This sounds like something that I need to learn more about. So 190 out of BR to I59 is not knew to me but Highway 12? Where is that?

190 turns into hwy 12 in Ragley, LA.

They get sketchy quick on the west side of LC, especially getting on and off I-10

Same.
Grew up driving to Florida from Houston every year in the ‘90s and they were working on it.
They were working on it when I was in school at LSU in the 2000s.

I live in Dallas and go home often, there's been road construction between Shreveport and Ruston for 30 years

Whoever is in charge of the construction between Orange and Beaumont should be fricking hung from an overpass.
