If you are in California I’d stay there. Everyone I know that left Louisiana for the West Coast says that the nurses are treated much better. They say they would never come back to work in the south.

South in general pays horrible for nurses. Part of why most of the travel nurses I’ve met over the years.....were from the South.

Moved back to the South Nurse. Base was $34 I believe. $38 was with nights

You are talking $42 an hour. A ten year PRN with no benefits would be lucky to get that here

Work 5 shifts a week with night and weekend shift diffs and you actually can.
That said they are gonna burn out fast working 5 nights a week if they try to have any life at all outside work. Work 3 day shifts during the week and it will be more like $50k.

My step daughter works 3 12 hour shifts with night differential at large NOLA hospital, she has BSN with 20 years experience and several certifications, $85k with no overtime.

I work part time (20 hours a week) and take call and clear over 200K in California. Although I love California, I think the Gulf of Mexico is the best place in the US...but I can never go back south. Nursing is too much better out here.
Bham pays around 25 an hour. At one time I was offered 28 an hour in Nola but that was almost 10 years ago.
