Breaux Bridge has the luxury of shitting out it's trash to St Martinville. Abbeville isn't as lucky.

Yea I had wondered into the wrong part of Abbeville a few months ago to take care of a house there.
Every town has that sadly.

Abbeville has it's bad areas but nice areas also which got family there. Got rice fields outside of town I got from my grandfather. Only bad part is during hurricane some low areas do flood.
Breaux Bridge I got some places in town wife is from there and downtown really cleaned up from old days of the bars.
Nice wooden homes and prices that I bought at were cheaper tha Lafayette and way way cheaper than Baton Rouge.
The elementary ok, middle school want to live in the parks primary district, and high school better than anything in Baton Rouge

Outside the cookie cutters, some of the houses in RR are pretty spectacular, particularly the zappernick mansion.

Yeah, I didn't want to say their name on here, but that is the most impressive house in the city to me.

Abbeville is one of the few Cajun towns that is still decent. Lots of nice old homes, and they have 4 good seafood restaurants right there too.

On Shannon and kings off of west bayou they have some serious old money gaudy in there, couple of A Hayes Town right in the middle of lafayette with elevated lawns large yards and no through traffic, when I hit it, that's where I'm going

Yeah I guess if you ignore the large ghetto area and stay north of hwy 14. North Vermillion and Maurice have come up in the world though.

Greenbriar FTW. Lots of old Lafayette money and the houses actually have yards. River Ranch is too theme parkish for me.
If you're looking for a nice middle class area and don't want to brave the drive up 90 or Ambassador during rush hour, then look at Broadmoor/Woodvale. Best schools in the city proper and close to everything off of Johnston and Ambassador.

Finally, River Ranch > The Woodlands > Northshore
God no. Lafayette is a descent town but I wouldn't compare it to the Woodlands or even the Northsore.
