Well that came out of nowhere. We lost a truly great one. From the Yardbirds, where he, Clapton, and Page were they all became very familiar to kids to today, Beck especially became quite the innovator. I grew up practicing his licks, but some of his best stuff IMO was done with talents like Tal Wilkenfeld later in life. He was able to just do his thing and not worry about being marketable or not. He’s Beck. He could do that.

On the GOAT short list. Along with Gilmour and Morse, my personal guitar hero. Will jam non stop for the rest of the month. Listening to Blow by Blow now. Loved bonding with my son over this when he was a young teen and so proud he got it and it influenced him as a player. So many memories of my life from 12 years on , around the music of Jeff Beck.

RIP.

Jeff Beck was a Guitar GOATS! It's a sad day in music.

"Blow by Blow" and "Wired" are some of the best instrumental albums ever produced.

One of the greats. I liked the version of People Get Ready that he did with Rod Stewart in the 80's.

I have aways thought that you are either a Jeff Beck guy, or you are not. Those who are not, will never really get this guy's genius. This guy went from blues rock to fusion to prog rock to R&B to electric jazz without even trying.
He once said that there was no reason at all for a guitarist to ever play fast, kind of as a response to guitarists who like to "shred" all the time.

Jeff Beck left us with some music that will continue to live on...forever.

Truly one of the greatest.
