Well, like today, you have to differentiate between the protests that were largely peaceful (and pretty effective) like Selma, the Million Man March, the anti-war march on the Mall, etc. vs. what happened in Detroit in 1967, Chicago in 1968, et al.
Good point.

Ahh, back to painting the “peaceful protests“ narrative.
Can you actually read? My post clearly says "protests, civil unrest, and RIOTS(emphasis added)", and does not at all mention peaceful protests.

That’s pretty good. Take a bow.

Protests, civil unrest, and riots have been happening since our founding under both party's leadership. To act like it's going to be a problem in the future based on current votes is wholly ignorant of our history.
The only difference is that we've never had a media and political party endorsing the rioters as righteous patriots for needlessly burning cities to the ground and excusing it by saying "this is what insurance is for"

I can read just fine. But let’s not pretend that your post isn’t disingenuous and you aren’t validating the violence and destruction with muh history. Again, there’s a huge difference. And like you, one side is defending it or pretending it isn’t happening at all (including the media and social media)

So it's ok for white people to use the N word if they're on the side of the rioters? I am confuse.
Also, it does appear that he got his wish.

I want to see all the fricking badass looters and rioters go up against these guys. Lets see how long before they all go home crying back to their mother's basement.
They will cry about them having an unfair advantage
ETA: Props to that "kid" for having excellent situational awareness and calling 911. His father trained him well.

Serious question...how much damage was caused during the civil rights movement and the associated marches and protests back in the day?
If I had to guess I would say little to none,
And you would be wrong.

This is revisionist history. Seriously, John Lewis just passed away a few weeks ago. He had his head cracked open by state troopers during a peaceful march. You don't even have to dig deep into history to know these things. Black churches and homes were bombed and set on fire. Black kids were mowed down in the street by fire hoses. The civil rights movement in the 60's was very violent and destructive. A lot of that violence and destruction was carried out by the state and white citizens though.

I’m curious where the shooters Baws were when it went down. Looked like there was a good bit of firepower together.
Then the headshot...mob chases him down the street and he shoots 2 or three more as he’s attacked.
Cops don’t seem at all alarmed that guy is walking down the street with a rifle.
Baw shoots two more

It's already happening under Trump yet somehow this is what Biden's America will look like? That makes zero sense. But then people who vote out of fear never use reason.

If I had to guess I would say little to none, because if there was any the police would've crushed them. But their approach was admirable, thoughtful, and it made sense to people. This bullshite happening now is the antithesis of that in every possible way.
No, not much damage at all!
LA (Watts)
The Watts riots, sometimes referred to as the Watts Rebellion or Watts Uprising,[1] took place in the Watts neighborhood and its surrounding areas of Los Angeles from August 11 to 16, 1965.
On August 11, 1965, Marquette Frye, an African-American motorist on parole for robbery, was pulled over for reckless driving.[2][3] A minor roadside argument broke out, which then escalated into a fight with police.[2] Community members reported that the police had hurt a pregnant woman, and six days of civil unrest followed.[3] Nearly 14,000 members of the California Army National Guard[4] helped suppress the disturbance, which resulted in 34 deaths[5] and over $40 million in property damage.[6] It was the city's worst unrest until the Rodney King riots of 1992.
Detroit
In Detroit, an estimated 10,000 people participated in the riots, with an estimated 100,000 gathering to watch. Thirty-six hours later, 43 were dead, 33 of whom were black and 10 white. More than 7,200 people were arrested, most of them black.
2,509 businesses reported looting or damage, 388 families were rendered homeless or displaced, and 412 buildings were burned or damaged enough to be demolished. Dollar losses from property damage ranged from $40 million to $45 million.
1992 LA Riots (after Rodney King verdict)
The rioting took place in several areas in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, as thousands of people rioted over a six-day period following the announcement of the verdict. Widespread looting, assault, and arson occurred during the riots, which local police forces had difficulty controlling due to lack of personnel and resources. The situation in the Los Angeles area was only resolved after the California National Guard, the United States military, and several federal law enforcement agencies were deployed to assist in ending the violence and unrest.
By the time the riots ended, 63 people had been killed,[7] 2,383 had been injured, more than 12,000 had been arrested, and estimates of property damage were over $1 billion, much of which disproportionately affected Koreatown, where the bulk of rioting occurred. LAPD Chief of Police Daryl Gates, who had already announced his resignation by the time of the riots, was attributed with much of the blame for failure to de-escalate the situation and overall mismanagement.
