These riders get no affection or attention at home so they sign up and pay a lot of money to ride in these parades where they wear costumes and cover their face with the hope of seeing a tit or some girl or guy wink at them just so they can get off.
Sounds like you got it all figured out. Well done. Yep... we just need more laws and regulations... that will fix everything.
You sound angry... was your rider application turned down?

Some idiot took a dive for a trinket because the float riders are drinking..... Now this is some next level liberal arts.

Rouge and TulaneLSU need to just go ahead and have their weird troll baby.

How the frick do you get hit by a float?
It’s as big as a small house.
It’s slow as frick.
It’s moving in a predictable straight line path.
Seriously, how?

Lets face it, the majority of riders can’t handle their alcohol and act obnoxious and unruly while enticing the crowd to get as close as they can to the float by dangling cheap trinkets to the crowd just to get a little attention
Riders aren’t driving the float and riders aren’t crossing barricades to get right up next to the float.

Preach brother.
I can't speak to the psychology of the drunk riders but drunk riders should not be a thing. I know a few people who ride and really it's only a big excuse to get wasted for them. You hear stories of kegs on floats, barely being able to stand by the end of the parade, vomit buckets, hangovers.
tbh New Orleans needs to get in line with the rest of the country and ban drinking in public/open containers. It would be a big step to making Mardi Gras and NOLA safer. No drunk riders, no drunk spectators fighting or getting run over by floats.
A lot of kids go to these parades and it's a travesty for them to see adults wasted and out of control.
Public drinking is trashy. I get that NOLA allows public drinking to attract tourists but they need to end that shite with the quickness.
It was banned in Baton Rouge when I was there for grad school and people were cool with it.
Louisiana really does have an alcoholic mentality, pretty much every little thing is a reason to celebrate and get hammered. It's sad. But even with that sentiment, the rest of the state knows better than to allow public drinking.
It's not just the riders that shouldn't be drinking but the spectators too.
TulaneLSU and CapperVin are 100 on this. fact.

Those two statements are not mutually exclusive. Pretty sure the answer is (c) all of the above.
Posted on 2/23/20 at 8:24 am to CapperVin
They wouldn’t let you ride would they. That’s why you’re mad.
