More like minivans to me.
I get what you're saying, but minivans have generally straighter lines than crossovers and (real) SUVs, for the most part. As the name suggests - looks like a "small" panel van to me, with all the Soccer Mom features.
A crossover is the same thing, but designed to emulate the look/outline of a (real) SUV. Ergo, a station wagon.

Last year could not find a station wagon for wife and had to get an SUV. You can only find really expensive ones, or old busted pieces of shite from the mid 90's.
An affordable station wagon would sell like hot cakes to the 40 yo middle class crowd.

A crossover is basically a station wagon...

The Subaru outback is the new private school/soccer mom wagon of choice.

Says you
How do you think the average rich (self made, not inherited) got that way.
Folks in my age bracket were big Buick buyers as they made a well built 4 door sedan with the quietest interior on the highway. Not sure why they dropped this niche for whatever they build now.

Never understood why BMW didn’t market their tourer wagons more in the States.
Best car I ever owned.

Wagons
SUVs that never haul anything, and never leave the pavement
Crossovers

That book has zero to do with driving a Buick

Apparently this shite is cyclical.
Station wagons gave way to minivans which gave way to SUVs which is giving way to station wagons.
I’m hoping Muscle cars make a comeback when I’m in my midlife crisis and need a penismobile to go with my trophy woman:
