Oh, and it's never even been lived in.

DailyMail

quote:

A never-lived-in oceanfront mansion that quietly sold for $110 million last year is to be torn down and replaced with a new property.

The mansion, built in 2016 at 1071 N. Ocean Blvd, Palm Beach, is owned by a company linked to cosmetics billionaire William P. Lauder.

It was blasted by locals around the time of its construction for being too large - although the next property on the plot may be even bigger.

It’s his property. Why does it matter what he does to that house?

Alternative headline:

Rich guy buys $105M ocean front property and tears down $5M house sitting on it so he has unfettered use going forward.

It's believed the plan will be to merge both plots to create and even larger home - despite the now-doomed mansion infuriating locals with its size when it was constructed six years ago

Pash. I’ve seen bigger mansions in the quad.

Not that unusual for Palm Beach or South FL generally, especially in recent years with all the East Coast $$$ moving full-time down there.

Tearing down recently purchased mansions have been going on for decades.
Once, years ago in Monterey/ Carmel, CA, I saw no less than 3 properties that had an ongoing teardown/ build new construction going on.

Why is he an a hole ..he might be but how does tearing down a house make him one. He just happens to have enough money from lipstick to not care about 110 million. That's probably like me hiring someone to take down a pine tree
