As reality sets in, only 24% of boomers express confidence that they will have enough resources in retirement vs. 37% five years ago. And more are pushing back their planned retirement date, with 26% saying they intend to work till age 70, up from 17% five years ago. Twice as many now say they may have to rely on children or family to support them financially. The first boomers turned 70 this year. The generation still has decades ahead. But time for preparation is running out—a reality that may finally be sinking in.

Of course, it is because the millenials have been mooching off of their parents for too long.

My dad is in that boat, he wanted to retire at 55 (then his union changed it to 62) well he reached 62 and retired then realized that he wasn't making enough so went back to work. His goal is to work till he can't then retire.

I think millennials are compassionate enough to help our deserving elders.

Boomers:

-Became workforce aged at the best time in American history
-Partied and Hippie’d, spreading STDs in their “free love” era
-Ran a prosperous economy into the ground because of their greed and unwillingness to retire.
-College graduates needed to be more competitive because boomers weren’t retiring and therefore not freeing up space in the workforce. As a result, college rates went up because everyone needed a degree to even be considered
-Housing bubble
-Economic crisis of 08, caused by the boomers in power positions
-Finally, they either retire or are forced out of the workforce because they can’t operate excel.
-Spend their money irresponsibly and rely on their kids for support.
-Rabble Rabble Millennials...
