NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A retired New Orleans police officer died by suicide Thursday inside the DXC Technology Building, which houses the NOPD’s headquarters, authorities said.

Officers responded around 10:35 a.m. to a report of an attempted suicide in the 1600 block of Poydras Street, police said. When they arrived, they found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he died.

I’ve listened to a few veteran podcasts lately when they were interviewing cops. I think in some ways these cops have it worse(depending on the location) because they see bad shite on a regular basis. They have zero down time where they go home from a deployment like military guys do.

They probably see and deal with shite that the average person could even comprehend. You go on calls and deal with situations while people are all around yelling at you.. And you are expected to keep a level head.

Then if that is your job for.. IDK.. 20-25 years then retire.. I am sure that's not an easy adjustment for some. That sucks.

If he was also having sex with Teedy, I can see why he did it then.

Exactly, I have a friend who was FBI and he said that suicide among law enforcement agents is very high.

Especially when it comes to children. When something terrible happens to a child, cops are some of the first people to see this. How can that not affect someone?
