The time effort and money that went into this monuments removal midnight job could have been dedicated to the crime issue. Over 250 people people being shot this year from January compared to 141 last year this time.

$2.1M is low because you have to design and replace three of the monuments and the pedestals are still there. It's going to cost a lot more.
They all look like dogshit currently, with no foreseeable improvement anytime soon.
But, hey, he showed somebody!

Crime? No
Education? No
Infastructure? No
Corporate Attraction? No
Civil improvements? No
French Quarter Improvements? No
Tear down some statues no one gives a frick about?
The mayor, the city Council, the state black Caucas and multiple advocacy groups come out the woodwork and all work tirelessly in unison for months to get it done deposited opposition with the quickness using public funds and hidden contractors.
It's not the fact that the monuments came down that many of is are upset with. It's all that bullshite.
So specifically frick Mitch Landrieu. And frick LaToya Cantrell and frick the rest of them.

You are right.
Landrieu took these monuments down. May sell them to cover costs and will spend money time and effort in trying to replace them.
Crime, education, infrastructure, economic deveolopment doesn't matter to Landrieu

Ding ding ding!!!!
And the idiots who approve of this and say "melt" are too short-sighted to see this. Or simply don't care because they "won".

Yes.
Couple the fact that they aren't paying for it and you get your answer.
One day every American will wake up and discover the enemy is within. Slowly but surely this is happening.

just think....if they could put this type of effort in on something that actually matters, maybe they could do something actually worthwhile to help their given communities. No headlines in that I suppose though.

But if they improve too much they couldn't whine and cry about being the oppressed victims of this "white supremacist" society. Don't look for improvements any time soon.

Wow... "racial extremists"

Officials also paid EMS, as well as a third-party Homeland Security consulting firm called the Trident Group. They were brought in to do threat assessment and covert operations after the city started to get threats.
"This is the cost of dealing with racial extremists is that we had to spend some money on Homeland Security consulting from a part of the budget that otherwise would have gone to some other type of consulting," Deputy Mayor of External Affairs Ryan Berni said.

Dude. Jindal was, at one point, a rising star in the GOP. Young, minority, kid of immigrants. And then he blew it giving the GOP response to the state of the union on national tv. Everything after that was simply his own hubris.
Mitch has never and will never be a rising star. Anywhere. Ever. I'm willing to bet Mitch's people came to him and told him he should use this to run for president and his brain was calling him stupid for even considering it.

These folks are so corrupt and delusional. Nothing will change.

I just heard Berni in that clip on WWL. I nearly crashed the car.

Good. This needs more national coverage so he can be exposed for the grandstanding, pandering a-hole he is.
Posted on 7/8/17 at 8:57 am to davidsheroes
frick that goddamn piece of shite Mitch Landrieu.
Posted on 7/8/17 at 9:01 am to davidsheroes
I hope he's dumb enough to run for federal office. His opponent will have a field day.
