It's amazing the time and resources that's been spent on trying to find this attention grabbing split-tail. From what I've read in the paat, she wasn't that great of a pilot.

Man, nothing can remain mysterious anymore and that makes me unreasonably mad for a holiday.

Robert Ballard's finding of the Titanic was part of the cover for a US Navy project that used recent advances in seafloor surveying to locate sunken nuclear submarines, ours and the Russian's. In fact, they were doing something else.
A big technical problem with locating Earhart's plane is the small size. The Western Pacific is loaded with similar-size junk.

I'm pretty sure i read about them finding the Electra recently using the date line theory.
Essentially, they were slightly off course, without much extra fuel, and didn't have many options to land.
https://www.datelinetheory.com/p/effects-of-date-line.html?m=1
They were tired and may have forgotten to turn back the date when crossing international date line, which put them 60 miles further west than they thought they were. This is due to celestial navigation changes.
Also, some of her instruments had broken along the way, and she wasn't able to receive the 2 way communication from the stand by ships.
They were already making the transit with barely enough fuel.
So, she had to do a controlled ditch when they weren't where they needed to be.
All of it is very plausible.

Everyone knows she disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle. They aren’t even searching in the right ocean.

There are thousands of crashed planes in the pacific. Could be anything

I’m wondering what about that image even definitively makes it plane wreckage

Apparently you don’t. I do. I’ve never understood comments like yours. Just skip the thread.
