I can confirm it is.

Completely changed my perspective.

If you are like me, you've watched wins and losses with this man.

You've watched the highs of championships, and the lows of terrible seasons. And Mista Robear was with us all the way.

This is me vouching for him, and my thanks for the service he's provided.

If I'm wrong, may Chicken bring down the banhammer that never ends

But here, I've done that. Got the answers and evidence I need to say, this is a horse worth backing. On top of that this is man who has provided, selflessly, and honestly at his own detriment, something of real value to many of us here. Something most of us took for granted, and never contributed a red cent for. And never was it asked...and he's not asking for it, for that, even now. Hell I had to put the pieces together. In that light, in spite of whatever foibles and imperfections that exist, I ask the infallible, ineffable, amazing denizens of TD to consider this cause worth, if not your donation, your disregard.

Okay, cool but I have no idea what answers or evidence you are talking about

I’m clearly missing context here and I don’t doubt the sincerity… Can you simplify for those of us willing but have no idea who this is

You clearly aren't an LSU baseball fan. Fine.

The OP has contributed far more than crowdfunding a van for his dad over a time before YouTube even existed.

If you don't get it, you probably won't. You are free to go on about your life.

For those of us who understand and appreciate it..:I think we'll show up

Your dad sounds like a great and responsible man. Check with local churches. They might be able to help.

And this post is nothing to be embarrassed by.

He needs to stop doing this. He has a disabled child to take care of. It would be different if he had only himself to be responsible for.

Good luck with the van. I don’t know how to repair transmissions else I would fix it.

It could be just a solenoid. Or he might just need a filter/oil change. I can do that. What’s wrong with it? What did the mechanic say is wrong? Sometimes these mechanics aren’t exactly honest. Shocker I know!

I would add directly to your efforts fr33, though I know OP is reputable on this site as well

Oh yes. 100%. His giving was a strife in our family, but he accepts he can longer do this and he does not. We have absolutely discussed this and come to agree on this. I fully agree with you and he has made this change in his life. I want to be transparent.

Thank you so much.

I believe he was told the rear gear band broke and it needed an entire transmission rebuild or repair. I think it was slipping too. I can ask him exactly later, but he was quoted by two mechanics around $3,500. One of them was a guy he is friends with, so I do believe him. The van has a ton of other issues as well.

Ok. I can’t fix that. No need to ask him specifics.

Wow, this is crazy. I have personally seen how hard your dad works. Thank you for sharing this story. I’m gonna speak to several others who also know him. Will stay tuned for more info hopefully on a GoFundMe or something similar. God bless your dad, he is a good man.

Wait, how old was your mother, and she was still working?

And she moved in with her ex? Even after your father adopted her fist kid from another man? How old was he?

She sounds like a piece of work.

Not making lite of you situation, but it’s a pretty odd story.

Start a go fund me..
